Motorized Skylight Shades
Motorized Skylight Shades - Solar Powered Skylight Shades
Skylight windows are a beautiful addition to any home, allowing for ample natural light and a beautiful view of the sky into any room. But in many cases, a skylight opening can also create a lot of problems and be hard to maintain - the sunlight may be too harsh or bring too much glare, the UV rays from the sun can cause fading in your furniture or be harmful to your skin, and the lack of insulation can make your room uncomfortable during hot summers and cold winters. For this reason installing motorized skylight shades is extremely important to add convenience and light control to your skylights. These motorized cellular shades are made with materials that add energy efficiency to your skylights and can be controlled wirelessly so that you don't have to reach and operate them with a pole.

How do solar-powered skylight shades work?
A skylight shade can be installed at an angle and runs along tracks. They operate with a remote control and have the option for a solar panel with solar charger to charge the integrated rechargeable battery. After installation, simply press the up or down button on the remote to move the shade up and down. These skylight blinds help add light filtering and protection when lowered, or they can be raised when you want more light to come through.
By default the skylight shade will come with a rechargeable battery that lasts 6-12 months, depending on usage. Simply plug in the battery charger to the charging port for about 6 hours for a full charge, then it is good for another 6-12 months. However by adding on the solar power skylight option you can trickle charge the battery for 1 open and 1 close per day, as long as you get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.
How do you install blinds in a skylight?
To install the shades in your skylights, first make sure that you measure and order the shade properly to the correct inside mount measurements. When the shade arrives, it installs similarly to any other blind except that you will also have to screw in the side tracks to the left and right of the window. Please make sure to follow our installation guidelines found on the product page, and to be careful when using a ladder.
