Fabrics with horizontal segments alternating between sheer and semi-opaque are made in dual layers parallel to each other. When the sheer band of fabric is aligned each other parallel a blurred view through will be possible, light filters through the sheer fabric. When an opaque band of fabric is aligned each other parallel light is diffused for light filtering shades, for room darkening shades light is blocked and the view through is blocked, light filters through the sheer fabric when the shade partially raised or lowered.

Light Control and Privacy
Sheer Fabrics: Lets in the most amount of light into the room with a minimum amount of privacy without obstructing outside view. A view of the room can be seen quite clearly through the sheer shades.
Light Filtering: Let the light in gently diffusing through and provides moderate privacy. Blurred Images and shapes may be seen through these shades without visible details. Dark fabric colors provide moderate light control while light colors provide reduced light control. These fabrics are opaque or translucent, and their colors may depend on the different light source or situations. Colors may also show up to vary depending upon the source of lighting or type of illumination, as well as whether the shade is partially or fully closed.
Room Darkening: lets some light to filter into the room and provides complete privacy. The view in a lit room seen through these shades appears as shadows or silhouettes shapes. Dark fabric colors darken a room; light colors filter and diffuse bright sunlight. These opaque bands of fabrics are translucent, and their colors may depend on the changing light conditions. Colors may show up to vary depending upon the source of lighting and type of illumination, as well as the shade is partially or fully closed.
Light Gap: For optimal light and glare control, outside mount is recommended, or you may combine with a secondary soft window treatment like drapery or curtain to hide the light gap on an inside mount.
The Fabric Width is narrower than the Finished Shade Width of the tube and its components or Cassette Valance.

Fabric Recommendations
Order all shades at a time for the same room to ensure color consistency and to minimize dye lot variation. For side-by-side layered shades, request stripe alignment. Stripes can be aligned to within 1⁄4" (0.7 cm).
NOTE: Shades must be ordered at the same time with the same fabric style and height.

How to Measure
Alignment can only be guaranteed on up to 2 shades at a time. Alignment is subject to manufacturing tolerances of up to 3/4".
