Step by Step Guidelines: Removing Blinds from Window
• Step 1: Keep the Blinds Open
The first thing you need to do is to keep your blinds open all the way in order to prevent the damage during removal. Pull the cord down and let the blind go up as high as it can go.
• Step 2: Remove Cover If Any
To locate the brackets that hold the blinds in position, you have to eliminate the cover (a wide plastic material) first which is located at the top of the blind. Be gentle and pull it away from the blinds, make sure you don’t press too much pressure as it can break the cover. Use your hand or screwdriver to remove them smoothly. If the cover is not there, then go to step number 3.
• Step 3: Check for Brackets
There are multiple window blinds available in recent market, and each of them follows a different mounting method. Have a closer look at the top of the blind and find out the location of brackets. You will find these brackets either the front of the blinds or above the blinds, attached with the wall (situated between the blinds and top of the window).
• Step 4: Loosen the Blinds
Once you get the brackets, it’s time to loosen the blinds. Take a screwdriver to open the clips or brackets that hold the blinds in the right place. Make sure to hold onto the blinds, otherwise, they will fall toward you.
• Step 5: Take Out the Blinds from the Window
After opening the brackets, use your hand to hold the top of the blinds. Take out the blinds outward toward the middle and gently bring them away from the window. If they are not coming out, double-check once, you have missed any additional clip or bracket and do the needful.
• Step 6: Final Touch
If you are removing the blinds for cleaning purposes, then wash them and attach them again on the windows using the brackets. And if you are planning to replace your existing blind with new one, then fix the new blind and decorate your windows however you wish.
