Hanging Wet Curtains to Remove Wrinkles
• Set your washing machine on a gentle cycle for small load. The water setting should be turned to cool or warm. Add a small quantity of very mild detergent and remember there must be no bleach added. Place your polyester curtains inside the washing machine and allow the washing machine to do the rest.
• After the spin cycle is complete remove the curtains from the washing machine and then hang them straight from a curtain rod to dry out. The drape must be spread out neatly across the rod so that the entire fabric surface is exposed to air. The objective is to allow the weight of the wet curtains to let the curtains to dry without any creases.
Iron Machine on Warm Setting
Now get your ironing board and machine and choose warm setting. There are some machines that have an inbuilt polyester setting. Now gentle iron the curtains till all wrinkles are removed.
You can also get wrinkles removed with the help of fabric steamers. The steam nozzle should be held close to the curtains and need to start from the bottom left. Gradually move the nozzle upwards till you reach the top. Move the nozzle and keep repeating this step till the whole curtain has been steamed. Check for wrinkles. If any remain then steam the curtains again.
Polyester curtains are a hassle-free option for your windows. They look smart and chic. Even if they do get some wrinkles from packaging they can remove with ease and will soon be up adorning your windows. Unlike curtains and silks which need far more care and gentle handling, polyester is your go-to fabric when you are looking for a hassle-free solution to your window treatment woes.
